Like everyone else in America, I couldn’t be happier that this week is coming to end. I’ve been glued to my computer screen this morning watching the man-hunt for Boston Marathon bombings suspect unfold while getting updates on the explosion in Texas. My yard is covered in feet (yes, foot plural) of snow in April and I’m sicker than a dog. I’m done. Over it. Calling it quits.
This weekend, I plan to hug my baby boy, snuggle with my puppies, hold hands with the spouse, and get my butt into a church pew to pray for the lives lost, the lives destroyed, and lives disrupted by this terrible week. But first, I’m toasting a glass of wine with a wonderful group of women tonight (sniffles and all) and saying thank you that my family and close friends are warm, safe, and happy.
However you do it – wine with the girls, prayer, or acts of kindness – spread some love this weekend, people. We need it.
P.S. Feel free to fill in the extra ‘F’ in TGIFF title with whatever F you feel is appropriate.
What are your plans for the weekend? Mine a little different for me…I’ll be all alone. My spouse is spending the weekend with ‘the guys.’ They’re golfing, fantasy football drafting and getting involved in some kind of male debauchery (I’m sure). So, I’m flying solo for the weekend which rarely happens (read: once a year).
With all this alone-time to kill, I’m trying to plan my weekend around doing some housework, starting a few projects I’ve had on my mind, and getting in some relaxation time. I’m also thinking I’ll spend Saturday night with a couple of ro-co’s, favorite blogs, and ice cream.
Sounds reasonable, right? I’m pretty excited for my weekend of solitude and am actually getting pretty anxious for the end of the workday. In case you’re already thinking it’s time to clock out too, here are a few fun links to distract you from work until that 5 o’clock whistle blows.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend!
