Dwell in Possibility …

When I have free time, I like to wander around Barnes & Noble. Lately, I’ve been hanging out near that end-cap that has all the Barnes & Noble Classic Series books. I keep stock-piling classic books, it’s kind of a strange habit.

My most recent ‘classic series’ purchase, The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson, has been my favorite so far. I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but I’ve been taking in a couple poems each night before bed. It’s super-relaxing and makes me fell all cultured (or something).

The poem above is my favorite one so far, but she has hundreds of famous passages and quotes.

Do you have any favorites? Do you read poetry?

No Excuse

Don’t tell me
you are not inspired.

That is no excuse.

Creativity doesn’t land;
it is earned.

So wrench your eyelids open
cackle at the keyboard
stomp your feet

You feel like you’re piling
stone upon stone
making nothing but an ugly
mountain of rock

from the top of it
at the end of a sweaty hour
suddenly a staggering view
a gift
a story unravels
for you
but not of you.

Write fast
creativity is not yours
to waste.

Today is definitely not feeling like a Tuesday (hence the absence of Tasty Tuesday). I’m suffering from a dreadful case of the Mondays.    ….Anyone? Crickets? Been done, no longer funny.

Sometimes, I (clearly) need a little inspiration to kick off the week. Thank goodness for poetry blogs and motivational quotes. How do you get inspired?

Fearless Monday!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! My weekend was full of fun – between baby showers and a birthday celebration, shopping and an unexpected neighborhood party, we had a great time! I hope you all did too. I’m certainly not ready for it to be Monday morning!

I wanted to kick off this week with a little poetry. I saw the quote below last week on {wit + delight} and it fits right in with today’s 30 Day Challenge: post a picture of something your afraid of. Well, as I’ve said before, I can’t post a picture of the thing I’m most afraid of…due to my fear of the scaley serpents.

So, instead, some words of wisdom from Mary Oliver to kick off the week! May you conquer all your fears!
